ATV-UTV

ATVs and UTVs are welcome on all Town Roads. Please stay within the roadway and not on private property unless authorized by the property owner.  

ATV-UTV Speed Limits

ATVs and UTVs please use safe riding practices when utilizing Town Roads

Please observe safe riding practice and ride within your ability. 

Please obey posted speed limits.  

ATVs and UTVs are restricted to a maximum speed of 35 MPH.

The town may occasionally close individual roads or sections of roads: Please obey the road closed road signs.

According to Wisconsin DNR Rules: ATVs and UTVs must slow to 10 mph or less under when:

  • You are within 100 feet of any person who is not on or in a motorized vehicle
  • You are within 100 feet of an ice fishing shanty
  • You are within 150 feet of a home or dwelling

Lighted Headlamp and Tail Lamp Required

ATVs and UTVs must have a lighted headlamp and tail lamp during operation, regardless of time of day or location.

High beams must be dimmed within 500 feet when approaching another vehicle from the front or rear.  In addition, back-up lamps must be used only when actively backing up.

Passenger Restrictions

ATV operators cannot have a passenger riding in or on any part of an ATV that is not designed or intended to be used by passengers, regardless of riding location.  Aftermarket seating does not comply with the law.

Low-Pressure Tire Are No Longer Required

Low-pressure tires are no longer required.  Instead, the only requirement is three or more tires for ATVs and four or more for UTVs.  

ATVs are required to be commercially designed and manufactured and their width cannot exceed 50 inches measured between the outermost wheel rims.

UTVs are required to be commercially designed and manufactured and their width cannot exceed 65 inches between the outermost wheel rims.
